Short Information: The Directorate General Assam Rifles, Shillong has invited online applications from eligible male Indian citizens for the Assam Rifles Technical and Tradesman Recruitment Rally 2026. A total of 354 Group C posts in technical and tradesman trades will be filled through this rally. The online application window is open from 28 September 2026 to 28 October 2026 (up to 11:59 PM). Selection will be through a rally comprising physical tests, a computer based test, a trade skill test and medical examination, followed by a trade- and category-wise merit list.

- The fee is non-refundable and is paid online into the SBI account of HQ DGAR. Only one application per candidate is accepted.

All advertised trades are open to male candidates only. 10% of vacancies in most trades are earmarked for Ex-Servicemen.
Eligibility
- Candidate must be a male Indian citizen.
- Cipher (Warrant Officer): 10+2 with Physics, Chemistry and Mathematics with 60% aggregate; OR BCA / B.Sc (IT / Computer Science) with 60%; OR B.Tech / BE (IT / Computer Science / Electronics & Telecommunication / Electronics & Communication) with 60%; OR NIELIT ‘A’ level or equivalent qualification.
- Other technical trades: Matriculation (10th) pass with ITI certificate in the relevant trade, or 10+2 / diploma as specified trade-wise in the official notification.
- Physical standards as prescribed (PST: height 170 cm and chest 80–85 cm for general category males, with relaxations for hill-area candidates and ST candidates).
- Candidates are advised to check the trade-wise eligibility criteria in the official notification before applying.
Selection Process
The selection is conducted through a recruitment rally in the following stages:
- Physical Standard Test (PST) & Physical Efficiency Test (PET) – RFID-based; PET is a 5 km run to be completed in 24 minutes (1.6 km in 7 minutes for the Ladakh region).
- Documentation Verification
- Computer Based Test (CBT) – objective-type question paper of 100 marks; minimum qualifying marks 35% for General / EWS and 33% for reserved categories.
- Trade Skill Test – computer-based trade test plus practical; qualifying in nature, marks not counted.
- Detailed / Review Medical Examination
- Final Merit List – prepared trade-wise and category-wise.
Negative Marking: The official notification summary does not state any negative marking scheme for the CBT. Question Type: Objective-type questions in the Computer Based Test.
