Short Information: Staff Selection Commission (SSC) has declared the First Round of Tentative Allocation (FRTA) result of the Combined Hindi Translators Examination 2025 on 05/11/2026. A total of 532 candidates have been provisionally recommended for Identification Verification on the basis of merit and the post preferences submitted online. The Sliding Process and Identification Verification will be held on 18/11/2026, and the verification slip can be downloaded from ssc.gov.in from 13/11/2026 (5 PM onwards). Paper-I was held on 12/08/2025 and Paper-II on 14/12/2025 for 437 posts advertised in the original notification.

The original notification advertised 437 posts. The FRTA write-up dated 05/11/2026 lists 532 vacancies, and the same number of candidates, 532, have been provisionally recommended. The posts are Junior Hindi Translator, Junior Translation Officer, Junior Translator, Senior Hindi Translator, Senior Translator and Sub Inspector (Hindi Translator) in CRPF, across 29 post codes in various ministries and departments.

SSC JHT 2025 Eligibility 2026

• Master’s degree in Hindi with English as a compulsory or elective subject, or Master’s degree in English with Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject, from a recognized university.
• Master’s degree in any subject with Hindi medium and English as a compulsory or elective subject, or with English medium and Hindi as a compulsory or elective subject, or with Hindi and English as compulsory or elective subjects.
• A recognized diploma or certificate course in translation from Hindi to English and vice versa, or two years of experience in translation work from Hindi to English and vice versa in a Central or State Government office, including Government of India undertakings.
• For Senior Hindi Translator and Senior Translator posts, three years of translation experience is required instead of two years.
• For Sub Inspector (Hindi Translator) in CRPF, the physical standards are height 165 cm for male and 155 cm for female candidates, and chest 77 to 82 cm for male candidates only.

SSC JHT 2025 Selection Process 2026

1. Paper-I (Computer Based Test): Objective (MCQ) type paper of 200 questions and 200 marks, held on 12/08/2025. General Hindi 100 marks and General English 100 marks, duration 2 hours. Negative marking of 0.25 marks for every wrong answer. A total of 3,642 candidates qualified for Paper-II.
2. Paper-II (Descriptive Test): Translation and essay writing paper of 200 marks, held on 14/12/2025, duration 2 hours. Minimum qualifying marks are 30% for UR, 25% for OBC and EWS, and 20% for all other categories. There is no negative marking in Paper-II.
3. PET / PST: Only for the post of Sub Inspector (Hindi Translator) in CRPF, as per the Paper-II result declared on 04/06/2026.
4. Option-cum-Preference: Candidates who appeared in Paper-II submitted their post preferences online from 08/09/2026 to 11/09/2026. A total of 2,724 candidates were considered for allocation.
5. FRTA: First Round of Tentative Allocation declared on 05/11/2026. A total of 532 candidates were provisionally recommended on merit-cum-preference. The result of 7 candidates has been kept withheld and 4 candidates have been debarred or rejected.
6. Sliding Process / Identification Verification: To be held on 18/11/2026 at the cities of the concerned Regional Offices. Candidates must attend physically, otherwise they will be treated as absent and will not be considered for the final result.
7. Document Verification and Final Result: Marks of shortlisted and non-shortlisted candidates will be uploaded after the final result is declared.
