AAI Syllabus 2026 — Section A (Common Topics)

Section A of the CBT covers general aptitude areas that are common across posts: General Knowledge, General English, Quantitative Aptitude and Reasoning (both verbal and non-verbal). About one-fifth of this section is devoted to aviation awareness, including abbreviations used in the sector (ICAO, DGCA, BCAS, IATA, AAI and similar bodies), basic airport terminology such as runway, taxiway, apron and parking stand, domestic and international airlines operating in India, the flow of a passenger from the city side to boarding, security and fire-fighting functions at airports, aircraft manufacturing companies, government aviation policies, fundamentals of aerodynamics, aviation regulators, categories of aircraft, major Indian airports, aviation meteorology terms like fog, mist, haze, METAR and SPECI, and the roles of agencies such as immigration, customs and health at airports.

AAI Syllabus 2026 — Section B (Post-wise)

Section B tests subjects connected to the educational qualifications of each discipline. The officially notified break-up for Junior Executive (Operations) is:

• Physics up to Class XII level — 40% of Section B
• Mathematics up to Class XII level — 40% of Section B
• General Principles of Business Management — 20% of Section B

Eligibility

• Manager posts: B.E./B.Tech in the relevant engineering discipline, or MBA (Finance) / PGDM (Finance) / CA / CMA / CFA for Finance, B.Arch for Architecture, or LL.B. for Law, along with 3 years of relevant experience. Architecture candidates must be registered with the Council of Architecture; Law candidates must be eligible for Bar Council enrollment.
• Junior Executive (Finance): MBA (Finance) / PGDM (Finance) / CA / CMA / CFA.
• Junior Executive (Law): 3-year regular or 5-year integrated LL.B. degree with eligibility for Bar Council enrollment.
• Junior Executive (Operations): B.Sc. with a 2-year MBA, or B.E./B.Tech degree.
• Junior Executive (Survey & Cartography): B.E./B.Tech in Civil Engineering, or M.Sc. in Geography / Remote Sensing & GIS / Geo-Informatics / Geomatics.

Selection Process

• Computer Based Test (CBT) — 120 marks, objective-type MCQs, bilingual (Hindi & English), no negative marking
• Document / Application Verification
• Interview — for Manager posts only (Post Codes 1 to 11)
• Physical Measurement Test, Driving Test and Physical Endurance Test — for the Manager (Fire Services) post only
