Short Information: Bihar Police Subordinate Services Commission (BPSSC), Patna has invited online applications from serving Bihar Home Guard personnel for 65 posts of Gulma Samadeshta (Company Commander) in the Bihar Home Guard Vahini Seva Sanvarg under Advt 11/2026. Candidates holding a bachelor’s degree with at least 5 years of Home Guard service can apply online from 10/09/2026 to 10/10/2026. Eligibility

Candidates must be Indian citizens — male, female and third gender Home Guards are all eligible to apply. The applicant must be an enrolled and trained member of the Bihar Home Guard Vahini organisation with at least 5 years of service or duty in the organisation, and must have at least 10 years of service remaining as on 01/08/2026. A bachelor’s degree from a recognised university, or an equivalent qualification recognised by the state government, must have been completed by 01/08/2026. Candidates must also fulfil the prescribed physical standards.

Selection Process

1. Preliminary Written Exam — a single paper of 200 marks with 100 objective questions to be answered in 2 hours, covering General Knowledge and current affairs. Candidates scoring below 30% will not qualify; the top 20 times the number of vacancies (category-wise, by merit) will move to the Mains exam.
2. Mains Written Exam — Paper 1 is General Hindi of 200 marks with 100 questions in 2 hours, qualifying in nature (minimum 30% required; its marks are not counted in the merit). Paper 2 covers General Studies, General Science, Civics, Indian History, Indian Geography, Mathematics and Mental Ability — 200 marks, 100 questions, 2 hours — and its marks decide the merit. Both papers are objective type (MCQ) on OMR sheets, and 0.2 mark is deducted for every wrong answer in both stages of the written exam.
3. Physical Efficiency Test (PET) — qualifying only; 6 times the vacancies (category-wise) will be called from the Mains merit. Height standards — Male (General / BC) 165 cm, Male (EBC / SC / ST) 160 cm, Female (all categories) 155 cm; chest standards also apply.
