1. Education: Bachelor’s Degree in any discipline from a recognized university.
2. Preferential Qualification: NCC ‘B’ or ‘C’ certificate is a preferential qualification for some posts.

UKPSC Lower PCS Recruitment 2026 Selection Process
1. Preliminary Examination: One objective paper of General Studies and General Aptitude Test — 150 questions, 150 marks, 2 hours. The Pre exam is qualifying only and its marks are NOT counted in the final merit.
2. Main Examination: Descriptive written examination — Language (General Hindi) 100 marks, Essay 100 marks, General Studies Paper-I 200 marks, General Studies Paper-II 200 marks (total 600 marks). Minimum 35% marks in the Hindi paper is compulsory.
3. Personality Test (Interview): 75 marks.
Negative Marking: 1/4 mark is deducted for each wrong answer in the Preliminary Examination. No deduction is made for unattempted questions. Question type is MCQ (objective).
Qualifying Marks: Preliminary — General 35%, OBC and EWS 30%, SC and ST 25%; Mains — 40%, 35% and 30%; Final selection — 45%, 40% and 35%.
